How to Coach Your Team

Develop the basic skills required to coach your team members effectively. Learn when and how to use coaching in your role as a manager.

In 2008 Google launched ‘Project Oxygen’, a research project into what makes a great manager. Being a good coach emerged at the top of the list suggesting that great managers don’t solve problems for people, they challenge and guide their team members, developing their resourcefulness and ability to think independently.

In this interactive workshop we will explore 3 of the core coaching skills you need to develop in order to coach your team members with confidence; building rapport, active listening and asking powerful questions. We also help you understand when to use coaching versus another approach.

We will cover:

  • What coaching is and what is isn’t

  • Scenarios when coaching is appropriate

  • How to build strong rapport with your coachees/team members

  • How to actively listen to what’s being said without judgement

  • How to use and come up with powerful coaching questions

  • How to structure a coaching conversation

  • A strong understanding of what coaching really is and how it can benefit you and your team members.

  • The basic skills to be able to start coaching with confidence.

  • A workbook containing key theories and additional resources for you to explore.
